Thirteen years ago, we opened the doors of Jack’s Wife Freda on Lafayette Street with a simple dream: to create a place that felt like home—where guests became family, and a meal was more than just food. It was a celebration of our roots, our adopted city, and, of course, the love story that started it all.

What began as a tribute to Dean’s grandmother Freda—her warmth, hospitality, and food that always made everyone feel welcome—has grown into 5 locations across NYC. Each one is a piece of our hearts, a reflection of our immigrant love story, and a love letter to this city.

It’s been quite the ride.

To our staff, team & people, who bring the magic every single day: You are the heartbeat of Jack’s Wife Freda. To our guests, who’ve shared this journey with us: Thank you for your stories, your laughter, and for making Jack’s Wife Freda a part of your lives.
